Some Exact Reasons of AC Vent Dripping Water

We all normally don’t hear this that water drips from the vents, but still in some situations water drips from the vents and cause much trouble for the house owner. If you see water stains or the ceiling getting yellowing then this is the best sign of AC vents dripping water. Though there are many reasons of this to occur, but here in the blog AC repair Lake Worth has summarized some of the obvious reasons for the vents to drip water.

Condensate Drain Line

If you see that condensation is getting build up near the vents then it is because of the clogged drain line. Though there are many reasons for the condensate drain line to become clogged but it usually happens when you have air conditioner mounted in the attic. Sometimes when the AC units are installed in attic then drain line can cause water to overflow from the drip pan and into the ducts followed by the air vents.

Roof leaks

Sometimes in your roof there lies a leak which you don’t exactly know and because it remains unfixed most of the time results in water travels through the system and to the air vents.

Refrigerant Leaks

Yes! The next possible reason could be the refrigerant leaks. The refrigerant leaks causes the AC vent to leak water in the same way as the dirty air filters do. When the refrigerant levels are low then the AC system would not remove humidity from the air and water that is sucked out of the air just gets placed on the evaporator coil and freeze up. So now you can imagine that when this frozen water starts to melt the condensation drips out of the vents and your vents start leaking too.
